Always My Boo - Ghosties in Love Wall Hanging
There is a lot goin on with this piece, so buckle in!
The Ghosties in Love are back, yet again, on an adorable one-of-a-kind three piece wall hanging! The center hexagon is ceramic and has acrylic paint, navy blue glitter, a polymer clay eyeball heart (that I hand molded and baked in my oven, eyeball is handpainted), and sealed with epoxy resin. The eyeball addition on the clay heart was my son’s idea, so I just had to do that. He is an awesome little helper! I painted my logo on the back in a fun, spooky drippy font. It’s a nice touch.
The two diamond shaped pieces are wood, so you just know I had to woodburn them! I love the designs I came up with, totally reminds me of tattoos. I added acrylic paint (peep the iridescent paint on the close-ups, so pretty) and sealed them with resin as well, making them look uniform with the center of the hanging.
THEN TRAGEDY STRUCK! While I was was documenting this piece, it fell on the hard pavement in my back yard. I had to take Golden brand Molding Paste and re-build the part that broke off on the back of the ceramic piece. Please see the pic with the pointing skeleton hand to see this imperfection. It is a little bumpy, yes I sanded it, that was the best I could do! Thankfully it is on the backside. And to err is to human, or whatever. I was going to price this baby higher (resin is not cheap, my friends) but decided on a reasonable price that reflects this "damage”
I am still really proud of this one, it took me a while to complete, and it still looks quite beautiful.
This measures about 20” long and 6” wide, including the rope and cute tassel!
